Greg Curnoe Bike Photo of the Day #5: Drive Side

Here it is all together. I really couldn't be more pleased! I'll go pick it up from Velocolour soon, and then it's time for more fun. Remember that orange fenders are going on here. Things will only get more colourful.

ps: for those of you just joining us, read about the idea behind the project here, more about it here, and then skim at your leisure.

I don't like the Campy sticker, it limits you to Campy parts. If you are going for the "period" look, then you can argue that Shimano Dura-Ace was also a good contender, and, in fact, was better than Campy in the '70s and early '80s componentry. But great paint scheme, I just don't like to be "stuck" with one degree of componentry, when there were other choices...

Hi there. The Campy sticker is there not because I am using all Campagnolo parts (nor am I using all "period" parts) but because it was on the bike in the painting. Interesting also that it didn't limit Curnoe or Mariposa to Campy parts on the original: it had a Huret derailleur, Weinmann brakes, TA cranks, a generic seatpost, Pino skewers, etc. I think it was mainly on there because Curnoe liked the Campy logo and the yellow colour—which is good enough for me!
